A realistic and exciting game, within the simplest possible set of rules. We wanted UND1C1 to represent soccer as faithfully as feasible: few, easy-to-learn rules providing for great fun and unpredictability.

the game

A board game for two players, each acting as the coach of a soccer team. You’ll need a cunning strategy to outsmart your opponent and secure the victory.

1. Preparation ​

Coaches line up their squads based on player preferred positions, then toss a coin to decide who plays first.

2. kick-off ​

The winning coach passes the ball from the kick - off taker to any teammate, completing the first action of his first turn.

3. turn phases ​

During one turn, a coach can:

  • Perform up to three ACTIONS
  • Place up to two PADLOCKS
  • Play up to three CARDS


After these phases, he is obliged to draw one card from his deck. After that, the turn of the opponent coach begins.

4. actions ​

Actions include individual or group movement, pass, shot, dribbling or tackle.

The outcome of each action (except for movements) is decided by means of a dice roll.

5. padlocks ​

After performing his actions, a coach may place up to two padlocks (one white, one black) on the pitch. Padlocks are used to man-mark opponent players or to prevent them from stepping on certain boxes.

6. cards

After placing the padlocks, the coach is obliged to draw a card from his deck, ending its turn.

A coach is allowed to play up to 3 cards during his turn (before, while or after carrying out his actions).

7. end of the game ​

The match ends when both coaches run out of cards in their decks.

A team must have scored more goals than the opponent by the time this happens, in order to win the match.
